On 30 September, F1 Lunchtime Picture Book Session, we were delighted to welcome 16 S1 students to read and share thoughts on the book, "School is Starting, and School is Nervous Too!" Reflecting on their first month of high school life, our Teacher-Librarian, Ms. Lee, engaged in a heartfelt chat with the students about their favorite classes and their biggest worries. To wrap up the cozy afternoon, Ms. Lee presented each participant with a chocolate egg. Symbolizing a "one-month milestone," this sweet gift carries our best wishes for these young learners as they continue to grow and thrive in their new school journey.
2026-09-30The Book Club on September 24th was a resounding success, drawing over 50 students from four secondary schools including Leung Shek Chee College, SALEM-Immanuel Lutheran College, Wong Shiu Chi Secondary School, and Carmel Pak U Secondary School. Under the captivating theme "A Thread Across Millennia: Discovering Ancient Poetics in Modern Pop Music," celebrated author Chan Mei guided the students on a unique journey, intertwining the melodies of contemporary pop songs with the timeless beauty of classical poetry. By juxtaposing the ancient with the modern, the speaker illuminated a shared essence of beauty, showing how classical poetic sentiment is both revived and extended today—a testament to how aesthetics transcend the boundaries of time. To perceive beauty and grasp the essence of poetry is to transform a fleeting, ordinary moment into eternity. The afternoon concluded with vibrant and heartfelt interactions between the students and the speaker, leaving everyone with a deeply enriching and delightful memory.
On 24 September, the Science Society held a moon gazing activity after school. Students and teachers gathered to catch a detailed glimpse of the Moon’s surface. While the Moon looked smooth and round from afar, its mountains and craters came into clear focus when it was viewed through an astronomical telescope. As we celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, we send our warmest greetings to you and your loved ones. The English Junior Assembly held on 17 September kicked off the school year with a variety of fun activities for our junior form students. Our Form 1 and Form 3 enjoyed past performances from the SCMP Anchor Programme and two videos which received Honourable Mentions at the Filmit student film competition last year. Along with appreciating their schoolmates’ works, Form 1 and Form 3 students also joined in a game of speaking bingo where they got to learn more about their classmates. Meanwhile, our Form 2 students found themselves surrounded by the world of Shakespeare and exploring his thrilling, timeless work - Macbeth. Held by the Shakespeare4All Showtime English Drama Programme, professional actors gave an inspiring performance and even invited our students to the stage as they became immersed in the action. This performance was a fantastic opportunity to promote awareness of Shakespeare and spark an interest in English drama.
The competition provides a platform for secondary school students to explore urban renewal, community development, and social innovation through real-life project contexts. Throughout the competition, participating teams actively took part in workshops, conducted research on the designated project areas, prepared 360-degree videos, and presented their preliminary proposals during the mid-term presentation stage. The competition has provided students with a meaningful opportunity to deepen their understanding of urban renewal, community needs, and social innovation, while encouraging them to connect classroom learning with real-world urban challenges. Our students recently participated in the online preliminary round of the “Schools Music Appreciation Challenges”, co-organized by the Arts Education Section of the Curriculum Development Institute, Education Bureau, and RTHK Radio 4. We are proud to announce that our school received the “School Music Master Award” and the “18 Districts Active Participation Award”, advancing to the final for the second consecutive year. The Final and Award Ceremony took place on 8th July at the East Kowloon Cultural Centre. Demonstrating exceptional musical knowledge and seamless teamwork, our students outperformed their rivals, winning the competition with an outstanding score of 780 points and surpassing the runner-up by 225 points to clinch the Gold Award, “Best Cooperation Award” and “Best Cheering Team Award”.
